Philanthropy Day Event Guidelines

Help your favorite local NPOs and MCCF endowed funds with foundation support.
   Tuesday, November 1, 2016 from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
   Holiday Inn, 1005 Perry Street, Big Rapids

The Mecosta County Community Foundation (MCCF), an affiliate of Fremont Area Community Foundation, is offering at least $100,000 in matching funds. Individual community donors, giving generously to their favorite qualifying Mecosta County organizations will have their donations enhanced by MCCF. Twenty-nine percent of the matching funds will provide incentivize donations to non-profit organizations (NPOs) and seventy-one percent will match donations to MCCF endowed funds. Join us for a day of festive activities and philanthropy.

 

Details and Guidelines

Donations by cash, check or credit card shall be presented to the NPOs and to MCCF (for endowment donations) in the ballroom of the Holiday Inn on November 1st.

1. Donations will be matched up to $0.50 on the dollar for MCCF endowed funds to maximum of $2,500.

2. Check should be made payable to the NPO of your choice or to MCCF for endowed fund donation(s). Donations from an approved organization to itself do not qualify for a match.

3. Checks dated between August 9th and November 1st will be accepted. Any checks received prior to November 1st will need to photocopied and reported on the log sheet.

4. Qualifying organizations are listed on MCCF’s website at mecostagives.com as of October 7, 2016.

5. For donations to an NPO or multiple NPOs, separate checks should be written to each NPO. For donations to an endowment fund or multiple endowment funds, one check may be written to MCCF designating the endowment fund(s). Each donation should have a name and address indicated to enable gift acknowledgment.

6. All donations to NPOs for immediate needs will be accounted for by the Mecosta County Community Foundation and returned to the qualifying NPO at the end of the event. Checks will be mailed in January to the NPOs.
