Mecosta County Community Foundation awarded $13,040 in grants to local organizations this fall!

MCCF member Karl Linebaugh presents Miriam Andrus from the Big Rapids Library at check for $409.00 to be used in the children’s story hour area of the library.

Diane Long from Starburst accepts a check for $2,200 from Nick Scheible for a “Cloth Diapering Pilot Project.” The project is funded by MCYAC and the Healthy Youth and Senior Fund.

Karl Linebaugh presents MarcoMenezes from Wheatlant Music Organization with a check for $2,000 for a defibulator. The project is funded by the Community Needs Fund and funds from MCYAC.

Nick Scheible presents Isabel Kempton from Manna Pantry a check for $$2,400 to help with costs associated with the delivery of food from Feeding West Michigan. The project is funded by both MCYAC and the Community Needs Fund.

Marty Aldrich from Big Rapids Middle School accepts a check from Karl Linebaugh for $175. This mini-grant is made available through the MCYAC funds and will help the Middle School carpet the student’s “Cardinal’s Nest” activity room.

Anita Farrar and Joni Thompson accept a check of $1,058.00 for their Backpack Blessings program from Debbie Patterson on behalf of the MCYAC funds.

Debra Buehner accepts a check for $3,328 from Nick Scheible. The funds will be used for Central Park improvements and are from both MCYAC and Community Needs Funds.

MCCF members Debbie Patterson and Nick Scheible present Bonnie Shaw, Organizers for Youth, with $1200. MCYAC funded $500 towards the organization’s “My Home” project and an additional $700 was awarded by MCCF’s Community Need Fund for their hiking trail project.
