Rose Lake Youth Camp received $1,800 in grant money last fall (2011) to improve the waterfront swim activity area. Pictured are campers enjoying the new raft!
For our April 2012 Grant Cycle, we had approximately sixteen thousand dollars ($16,000.00) to grant and received applications requesting fifty thousand and sixty dollars ($50,060.00). Below are pictures of grantees accepting their checks!
Recpients not pictured include Big Rapids Public Schools ($400 for classroom calculators) and Mecosta County Historical Society ($750 for new lights).
On December 7, 2011, Mecosta County Community Foundation awarded recipients with grant checks. Over $36,859.00 dollars were requested in grant applications. The Community Needs Fund and the Youth Advisory Council together funded $19,709.00! Congratulations Grant Recipients!

Rose Lake Youth Camp was awarded $1,250.00 in the 2010 fall grant round. The grant awarded allowed the Rose Lake Youth Camp to purchase a “GaGa Pit” for outside recreation. The grant was funded through the Mecosta County Youth Advisory Council.
Debbie Szot provided pictures from the Charter School on thier first visit handing out bookmarks and pencils. 8 dog and handler teams were there with 60 children! Grant money was awarded from the MCYAC kids! “The heart and soul of two dogs helping animals and their people” is the motto of the Riley Mackenzie Fund.

The Mecosta County Youth Advisory Committee recommended a number of mini-grants for the amount of $1,432.23. The mini-grants awarded are for programs including preschool literacy, Word Attack!, a digital SRL camera, personal finance and learning centers.
